Pinky Promise

“We want the ‘mood’ of our wedding to be warm and romantic. As a gay couple, it’s especially important for us to really highlight how much we love each other unapologetically.” – Sarah + Lindsi

After reading through Sarah + Lindsi’s love story, I couldn’t wait to start designing. I had a vision in my head for a rainbow arch monogram, letterpress printed in a warm terracotta tone. From there, the rest of the design just seemed to fall into place. Alli worked her magic with spot calligraphy that was to die for – intertwining and connecting everything seamlessly. We sourced a rainbow vintage postage set (can you think of a more elegant way to incorporate a rainbow into your wedding paper?!), used a vellum inner envelope to show off a sepia-toned venue painting, and illustrated their pups Henry + Clyde as a sweet outer envelope embellishment. Our favorite finishing touch, though, was the use of our Pinky Promise (Mrs. & Mrs.) design. It was really exciting to put one of these inclusive designs to use in the most perfect implementation.

The decor was as warm as their love for one another, and the florals bloomed vibrantly in cascading displays of rich fall tones. Each of their dresses was simply stunning, and when they came together – jaw-dropping! Family and friends came together to celebrate this love story and surround Sarah + Lindsi with support. The joy on their faces looking through this gallery is tangible.

In addition to their invitation suite, we got to work on their day-of paper as well. From calligraphed escort cards, sealed with the same pinky promise wax seal, to a signature drink sign featuring watercolors of Henry + Clyde, we worked hard to create a cohesive aesthetic that filled the space with personal details. Lindsi has a passion for volunteering at animal shelters, so for their table numbers we incorporated adoptable shelter dogs in need. Each table was assigned a pup looking for a forever home, and we included a photo and full description of their stories. Instead of menus at each place setting, S+L opted for a personal thank you note, which also served as added context for the table numbers.

The day was stunning. Everything came together in a gorgeous array of color and personality. Sarah + Lindsi – we wish you the happiest life together.
