Intimate guest list? Check. Iceland destination? Check. Waterfall ceremony? Check.
This wedding was what dreams are made of. These two were immediately open to any and all creative ideas, which made for such a fun and art-filled collaboration. When they sent me photos of the waterfall where they planned to say “I do”, I was immediately drawn to the lush greens – it looked like a fairytale.
Emilee and Landon wanted to send their guests a package to get them excited for the trip ahead, rather than a standard save the date. They curated a beautiful coffee-table book all about Iceland, and I designed a custom wrapping paper pattern inspired by Icelandic folklore. The illustrations all had personal meaning, like bougainvillea to represent their Amalfi coast engagement, mountains to represent their adventurous hearts, and even their pup. To top it all off, the wrapped book was tied with fine twine and a custom die-cut save the date. These blush, double-thick cotton, tonal letterpress Iceland cards are one of my favorite pieces to ever come out of my studio. Everything was carefully packaged and shipped with white tissue paper and a blush wax seal in white shipping boxes.
Emilee found her dream dress shortly after we shipped their save the dates – when she sent me photos, my jaw was on the floor. I’ve never seen a dress like this in my 8+ years in the wedding industry. It reminded me of the pattern designed for her save the date wrapping paper, and it was amazing seeing things start coming together in their plans. Moving on to their invitations a few months later, we knew we wanted to bring in the colors from this epic gown.
The first impression was a show-stopping blush handmade paper envelope, adorned with dusty rose calligraphy addressing, a curated vintage postage set, and letterpress mountain flora details. Inside was a watercolor wash vellum liner, while an ethereal painting of their ceremony location, Írárfoss, was featured as a full-sized cotton paper wrap, tied with gorgeous mauve silk gossamer ribbon and a sequoia-green Pinky Promise wax seal.
One element Emilee wanted from the start was to include a beautiful poem by Icelandic writer Pétur Gunnarsson. To give this the feature it deserved, I worked with Inquisited on a custom oval handmade paper that was double-thick for double-sided letterpress printing – on the back was a line drawing of the waterfall. The other cards fell in line in an ombre blush-to-dusty-rose sequence. A custom initial illustration and abundant floral line drawings brought everything together beautifully.
Everything came together beautifully. Seeing the images of the ceremony, it looked like a dream. In the painting, we included lupine growing around the waterfall – I absolutely loved how the space was set for them to say their vows with a stunning lupine semi-circle. The experience for their guests included a sightseeing bus tour after the ceremony, while E+L took their out-of-this-world portraits. (I mean seriously, have you ever seen such magnificent wedding photos?!)
To continue their stationery into the big day, I created so many amazing pieces. Letterpress welcome cards were made with handmade paper in deep green envelopes for E+L to write personalized messages to their guests. Each welcome bag included a hang-tag printed on handmade paper and tied with the same gossamer ribbon we used on their invitations, and an itinerary for the weekend. Oval menus for the welcome dinner paid homage to the poem cards, individually printed with each guest’s name and their corresponding menu. For their wedding dinner celebration, I worked with their planner on a large seating chart, and Alli and I collaborated on some seriously amazing letterpress place card menus.
E+L, you were outstanding to work with. Thank you for entrusting me with your wedding paper for such an intimate and incredible ceremony. It’s always an amazing experience to work with people who let my creativity flow – I am so glad you loved how it all came together! Cheers to you two, to your love story, and to stunning Iceland.

From the couple:
“Amy was absolutely incredible to work with! She is incredibly creative and it’s so evident she’s passionate about her art (because what she creates is truly art, it’s beautiful). I’ve never been part of such a hyper-customized process and it was truly one of my favorite parts of wedding planning. She was so helpful, kind, and patient as she worked with me to create our save-the-dates that included a custom wrapping paper, an invitation suite with a custom painting, welcome bag inserts, and day-of paper. I received an endless stream of compliments about all the paper from the guests. I can’t recommend Amy enough, she is wonderful! ♡”
