Dreaming of Sicily

Words can’t describe the O-M-G feeling I got when this showed up in my inbox: “Hi! We are looking for truly bespoke and personalized save the dates, invitations and day of stationery. Our wedding will be in Sicily in June of 2023 for about 30-35 guests. We have chosen our venue and would love to incorporate traditional Sicilian motifs and our two sweet puppies into the invitations! We can’t wait to hear back! Thank you!! – Claudia”

Um…yes please!

Claudia + Chris were wonderful to work with from start to finish. Starting out with Claudia’s vision of a passport and boarding pass save the date, I sourced soft burgundy leather covers and designed a gold-foil-stamped custom monogram for an authentic feel. A custom passport stamp was made, each passport individually stamped by hand, and each letterpress boarding pass was personalized by Alli in a metallic gold ink calligraphy. When we got to the invitations, it was details like handmade paper, watercolor illustrations, custom envelopes, and a digitally painted venue landscape made this suite a hand crafted work of art.

The envelopes were one of my favorite features of this suite. Each one was custom made by hand. As soon as guests received them they were greeted with a curated vintage postage set and shimmering gold calligraphy addressing. On the back, a unique scalloped-edge design showed off their monogram and was stamped by hand with their custom passport stamp. Inside, the full interior of the envelope was printed with their digital landscape painting. Holding the cards together was a variegated sage green silk ribbon tied with a bow. The main invitation was digitally printed with a watercolor border and then foil stamped with a stunning champagne foil, while the details card featured a fold-out design with a custom watercolor pattern featuring their pups.

With a venue as stunning as Feudi del Pisciotto, how could the images be anything but spectacular? I loved going through this gallery from Zach Barron Co. These vibes are *chefs kiss*.

The weekend began with a lighthearted alfresco welcome party overlooking the vineyard. I created a custom line drawing of their pups with an aperol spritz for welcome tote bags for guests, which also made an appearance on the bar sign supplied by the venue. The next day was a magical ceremony filled with gorgeous florals and candles galore. A dreamy fairy-lit dinner under the stars awaited guests for the reception, and I created place setting menus in matching with the invitations. The night ended with a champagne tower, and the weekend came to a close the next day with a pool party surrounded with views you can only dream of.
