When I saw Catherine’s name pop up in my inquiries, I was so excited – she was the sister of a past bride, Alistaire, who I loved working with. Referrals are the biggest complement to any artist or vendor, and I couldn’t wait to talk with her about her spring-bloom-inspired wedding paper goals. Catherine came to me with her bridesmaid dresses and a stunning venue as the inspiration for her suite.

Custom artwork really took center stage with this suite, from a palette-knife landscape painting to an intricately illustrated vintage toile pattern. Here’s a list of all the personal details that were transformed into works of art for Catherine & Jackson:

  • Palette-knife landscape painting of the venue grounds
  • Additional palette-knife florals mimicking the floral appliqués of the bridesmaids’ dresses
  • Custom monogram
  • Ceremony tree illustration
  • Venue barn illustration
  • A landscape illustration of Jerome, AZ – their first trip together as a couple
  • Saguaro cactus and cactus wren illustrations from their home state of Arizona
  • Pine tree illustrations to represent their engagement, while picking out a Christmas tree
  • Illustration of Catherine dressage riding on her horse
  • Their late pup, Flynn, illustrated resting outside of their newly renovated home
  • Additional tulip illustrations as an added spring theme

We elevated and personalized this suite even further with a curated vintage postage set, letterpress on handmade paper, and a postcard-style reply card. One small touch I loved was having four different envelope liners showing off different features of the landscape painting. Each guest got something a little bit different, which is always something I strive for. This suite had so many colors, textures, and varying styles that melded together in perfect harmony. Even the thin, olive green velvet ribbon added its own special element of texture and color – every detail was intentionally crafted.

Catherine & Jackson fell in love with their venue for it’s farm views and beautiful ceremony spot, and it’s not hard to see why. I was so glad that we were able to carry their artwork and designs into their day-of pieces, and seeing their wedding day photos has me swooning over the way everything came together so seamlessly! We worked on place-setting thank you notes, a polaroid guestbook, seating chart, signage, and pressed flower table numbers. My personal favorite? The hand-painted flower box welcome sign. This was a true labor of love, and it looked so beautiful overflowing with their colorful blooms. Now, it can live in their home garden as a beautiful reminder of their love story.

This classy farm wedding really had it all. Catherine did an incredible job choosing their vendors and the details of their day, culminating into a dream team. Their wedding paper suite as a whole had a fun and inviting (pun intended) vibe to it, and when it was met with these explosive floral designs it was truly able to shine. Scrolling through their gallery had me in awe, not just of all of the pretty little details, but the pure joy and love that filled these two. Every laugh, goofy moment, and look of adoration could be felt through these images. You can tell that C&J have a base of best friendship behind their love story, and I think the keepsakes that they curated for their wedding are a true reflection of that.

I wish all of the happiness in the world to you two, Catherine & Jackson! It was a blast working with you, and I’ll always think fondly of our time together.
