Where can I even begin! Stephanie hiring me to coordinate her wedding was truly one of the greatest things to happen in my life. Over the last four years, she has become one of my closest friends, and the best production assistant I could ask for. When she and Aaron finally said I do after postponing the big day by a year, it was such a precious moment that I will never forget.
When concepting for these two, before I knew them as well as I do now, I was immediately drawn to the hummingbird. The hummingbird symbolizes love, the enjoyment of life, and the lightness of being. I felt when these two came together, they altered each other’s lives by bringing light to each other’s darknesses. The wings of this beautiful creature move in a figure eight – the infinity symbol. An autumnal garden party aesthetic was the perfect setting for their vows. Surrounded by all of their loved ones, we created an intimate atmosphere that brings together timeless romance and modern class. Subtle geometric elements served as a nod towards the Star of David, coupled with watercolor illustrations helped to set the tone for the wedding day.
Through three iterations of save the dates and change the dates, we incorporated a geometric hummingbird and bold watercolors to tie in the theme. The time finally came for invitations, and I felt I knew these two even better than before. I wanted to bring their two personal styles together, which was not an easy task (e.g. at one point, Aaron specifically asked for “pirate paper”…hard pass my guy, but I dig the enthusiasm!)
We compromised on a luxurious handmade paper, flat printed with loose watercolor washes and florals. I added in a painting of their venue, and the rest of the invitation was letterpress printed in a stunning burgundy ink. This mix of print styles created a layered effect that really made the designs stand out. As a finishing touch, all 87 invitations were hand-painted with gold leaf edges on every card.
We wrapped each suite in a burgundy folder tied with gold twine and sealed with a buttercream hummingbird. Their handmade paper envelopes were graced with burgundy addressing from AlliCat Calligraphy, a letterpress return address complete with an illustration of their pup, and finished off with a burgundy wax seal adorned with gold leaf.
Stephanie + Aaron lucked out with the most beautiful fall day. After their tear-filled first look, guests began to arrive. Their historical venue was stunning in the sunlight, and their outdoor ceremony was just *chef’s kiss*. Gold lanterns filled with beautiful blooms, hanging candle globes, and cohesive signage (designed by me, and made my Stephanie!) filled the space inside and out. Friends, family, and their pup Katonah surrounded them with love through their Jewish ceremony. Everything came together beautifully, and there are no two people more deserving of the spectacular wedding day they had.
The reception was so lighthearted and fun (almost as if they’d been waiting an entire extra year to celebrate!) We repurposed some of the ceremony decor and showcased even more signage and beautiful florals. The dance floor was filled all night long, and Stephanie + Aaron’s best day ever came to a close.
Side note – a quick shout out to her champagne foil on blush handmade paper bridal shower invitations, which were completely swoon-worthy!

From the couple:
“Amy is, by far, the best decision we made for our wedding day. From the elaborate hand-drawn illustrations of our venue and pup, to the detailed craftsmanship of each individual suite, our invitations were truly luxurious. Amy didn’t just create beautiful stationery, but managed to design the invitations to reflect who we are as both individuals and as a couple. Throughout the process, she was incredibly attentive and responsive, and endeavored to ensure that we were absolutely in love with every single detail.
It was clear that Amy designed each element with care to reflect our overall vision for our wedding day. From our save the dates that gave our guests a glimpse of our day, all the way through to the day-of details, Amy crafted the vision for our day in a way no one else could. We are so grateful to forever have a piece of our wedding day saved in our stationery—and not just one that is stunning, but that truly reflects us, our relationship, and our memories; all wrapped up with ribbon and a wax seal.”
