December 31, 2024
This year flew by! My first year with the new art-centered brand did not look anything like I thought it would – in fact, I barely spent more than a few short hours working on artwork for myself (oops). It was because of a combination of still having a fairly busy wedding schedule, and some big and very unexpected home renovations. It also felt like 2024 was full of far more social obligations and events than we are used to. By the time the holidays hit this year, I could not believe how short it had felt.
That being said, 2024 was full of some extreme highs. After 7 years in our home being afraid to do laundry in our wolf spider- and mouse-infested dungeon of a basement, we now have a beautiful laundry room, home gym, *clean* storage area, game table, and – best of all – a dedicated painting studio. The construction and chaos and go-go-go frazzled energy that filled this year was all so worth it in the end, and I am hopeful for a calm, mindful, and intentional 2025.
Here is a look back at the highlights from 2024:

Most importantly, I started the year by launching my new brand! Putting myself out there with my personal artwork was scary, but rewarding. It’s freeing to create for myself rather than within the confines of someone else’s desires or fear of what people may think.
Catherine & Jackson’s Colorful Spring Wedding
Catherine & Jackson’s wedding was full of color, which seemed to be a trend throughout the year. I loved working with them on this custom landscape painting of their venue, with some classic letterpress on handmade paper action for a blend of modern and timeless. Make sure to check out all the details in their blog post, linked above.
Parisian Editorial
Alli and I had the chance this year to work with Alyssa Belkaci on a stunning workshop at Chateau de Villette in Paris. I designed two full suites including a custom original painting, and everything came out so stunning.
Fall Save the Dates
Sent out some fun (and very different) save the dates for two late fall weddings.
Kaitlyn’s Bachelorette Invitations
A fun-filled weekend in Waco inspired this suite. Kaitlyn and her ladies will be spending a long weekend exploring all Waco has to offer – swimming with otters, shopping at the Magnolia Silos, visiting the Dr. Pepper Museum, having a high tea, and going on a sunset sailboat cruise – so what better way to get everyone excited than a gold foil toile pattern? The Texas-shaped cutout and custom typography was the perfect wow-factor, while a black velvet backing and hot pink envelope liner provided finishing touches.
Peter & Janine’s Wed-In-Red
P&J came to me wanting lots of shine and every shade of red. The suite we ended up with included a custom monogram that featured the arch in their venue ballroom, their two cats, and roses and thistles as a nod to their engagement at Edinburgh Castle. We combined gold foil, a palette-knife painting, and letterpress printing for a truly spectacular invitation.
Meaghan & Michael (& their seven pets)
M&M love their animals, so we knew we had to incorporate their portraits into this suite. I loved illustrating their many cats (and dog!) to serve as a super fun letterpress envelope liner and as extra “postage” on the outer envelope. The envelope designs are honestly some of my favorite ever, and also included a hand-painted rose on each individual flap and the beautiful work of AlliCat Calligraphy, of course. Lots of fun print methods and custom artwork in this one!
Pocono Mountain Styled Shoot
I reworked Catherine & Jackson’s invitation suite to fit the vibe for this beautiful styled shoot with Hannah Elizabeth Events. It included hand-painted details, like a fabric welcome sign that looked so perfect set up with the stunning floral designs by Woodland Floral Design Co.
Jim & John’s Personal Stationery
Dragonflies are a hugely important symbol in J&J’s lives, so when they approached me for a custom commission of a dragonfly and incorporating it into some personal stationery, I jumped at the chance! I hand-illustrated a dragonfly in blue and gold inks, which they now have hung in their home, and letterpress printed the intricate texture of the wings for a set of personal note cards.
The Calla Lily Event Planning
Working with Naticia to make her brand feel more like her was truly wonderful. I painted a custom abstract floral featuring – you guessed it – calla lilies, and crafted a custom logo mark that was clean and modern but still captured Naticia’s whimsical and fun-loving spirit. We launched her brand new website and got The Calla Lily Event Planning all set up for success moving forward.
Abby & Colton’s Fantasy Wedding
A&C love things like LOTR, D&D, and woodsy-ethereal-fairytale vibes. I loved working with them on a custom painting of their ceremony spot among towering pines and an illustrated “middle earth”-style map of their venue grounds for this unique suite.
Kaitlyn & Ryan’s Saves
An upcoming 2025 wedding, we sent out the first impression for K&R’s wedding paper. This custom monogram was illustrated incorporating their 4 pets (can you spot them all?) and architectural elements from their ceremony location, intricately intertwined with vines of ivy as another nod to their venue. These die-cut saves in a sage and rust color palette are the epitome of fall.
Santa Certificates
Alli & I were so proud and so excited to offer nice list certificates and letters from Santa this year! I designed the certificates and letterhead with hand-illustrated Christmas-y elements, a reindeer hoof-prints-in-the-snow letterpress envelope liner, and even some official North Pole postage stamps. Alli personalized every letter and hand-wrote each child’s name (checking it twice, of course!) for these super personalized gifts. We are so grateful for the support we received, and we hope to continue this tradition for many years to come.
Aryana & Andy’s Celestial Wedding
A&A wanted something dark, moody, and totally “them”. I digitally illustrated this custom pattern and monogram using flowers that hold special meaning to their love story, intermingled with celestial elements and an out-of-the-box color palette for extra personality. I adored working so closely with Aryana to bring her dream stationery to life!
Ash & John’s Epic Party
The year ended with my largest project to date – A&J were some of the most trusting (and most fun) clients I have ever worked with, and the end result is amazing. I am working on a full post for this one, because you truly just have to see everything to believe it! Stay tuned.
