Karli loves wine, and Geordan loves beer – together, they make one beautiful and love-filled couple. After a many-year engagement, it was such an honor to watch these two finally say, “I do”. Young love doesn’t always last a lifetime, but when it does, growing up together can be one of the strongest bonds between two people. Although a major ice storm and power outages caused some panic and stress, nothing could stop these two from saying their vows. Everyone worked together to make this wedding day happen — and executed it flawlessly.
We love it when our couples give us some creative freedom. For Karli & Geordan’s invitation suite, we brought their love of wine and beer together into something completely custom. Spilling wine and beer around was serious business…which we absolutely loved. We created letterpress coaster save the dates, with custom typography and some hand-mixed burgundy ink. Wrapped in vellum, we tied them with a single hop bud, setting the tone for not only the rest of the suite but for the entire wedding day. The details card was backed with a gold letterpressed map, each RSVP was personally addressed, and the formal invitation was adorned with connecting wine and beer rings. This suite is one of our all-time favorites because of the personal touches and made-with-love feel.
Woodstone Country Club & Lodge provides a grandiose stairway as a gorgeous backdrop. The ceremony space utilized hop vines, wine and beer bottles, and colored taper candles to create a whimsical yet elegant atmosphere. Guests were greeted with a hand-painted welcome sign from Signed by M, and the bride and groom honored their lost loved ones with a beautiful memorial table. Before their vows, Karli & Geordan participated in a wine ceremony, symbolizing the combining of their hearts and each sipping from the mixed glass. It was a beautiful and unique touch that we were happy to help them realize. Working their theme into their ceremony really drove home the personalization of this day.
The bride and groom and their loved ones were welcomed into the beautiful reception space (after braving the winds outside) with warm, beautiful blooms. Each table was dressed with gold and glass wine and beer bottles, all used as bud vases for open roses and hanging amaranthus from the wonderful Pondelek’s Florist. Guests found their seats with gold foil place cards tied to antique gold key bottle openers — just one more element to tie everything together. Hand-piped buttercream flowers and gorgeous gold leaf brought their two-tier cutting cake from SLB Cakes to life. The night ended with dancing and celebration, and everyone agreed that it was the perfect wedding for the new Mr. & Mrs. Vincent.

From the couple:
“Hiring Amy to help plan our March 2018 wedding was by far one of the best decisions we could have made! Our day was perfect, beyond our wildest dreams, and it would not have been possible without her. Amy designed the perfect day, from the gorgeous stationary and the heartfelt touches to the beautiful ceremony and reception spaces. The amount of detail and creativity she puts into every step of her work is mind blowing. Not to mention the amount of emotional support she offers to stressed out brides and grooms. Planning a wedding can be a difficult task, and having someone as dedicated as Amy on your team makes it that much easier. We highly recommend Amy and would hire her again in a heartbeat!.”
